Ax-3 Mission Briefing (13 Dec. 2023): The Ax-3 Mission Briefing, held virtually on December 13, 2023, provided a high-level overview of the mission operations and objectives for Axiom Mission 3, the third private astronaut mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The mission was scheduled for January 9, 2024, using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft. The mission crew consists of four multinational astronauts, including Michael López-Alegría, Walter Villadei, Alpen Gezeravc?, and Marcus Wandt. Ax-3 is the first all-European commercial astronaut mission to the ISS, marking Türkiye's first astronaut flight as part of its national human spaceflight program. It also marks the first commercial spaceflight mission for an ESA-sponsored astronaut. The crew will spend about 14 days aboard the ISS, conducting over 30 microgravity research experiments developed in collaboration with global organizations. NASA's involvement focuses on enabling a strong commercial marketplace in low Earth orbit, with Ax-3 helping pave the way toward the Axiom Station, the world's first commercial space station.
