Roscosmos Weekly (25 April. 2025): On April 20, 2025, the Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft, carrying NASA astronaut Donald Pettit and Roscosmos cosmonauts Aleksey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner, successfully returned to Earth after 220 days in orbit. The crew completed their Expedition 72 mission, which involved orbiting Earth 3,520 times and traveling 93.3 million miles. After landing, the crew was transported to Karaganda, Kazakhstan, while Pettit returned to Houston. Ovchinin and Vagner went to training centers in Russia. The ISS-73 crew continues scientific experiments and orbital altitude adjustments, maintaining its vital research and operational functions. Baikonur Cosmodrome's Site No. 1, the historic launch site of Yuri Gagarin's Vostok 1 mission, is under consideration for becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
