Space to Ground (21 March 2025)
Space to Ground (14 March 2025) - Presented by Kayla LaFrance - Video credit: NASA JSC - Summary by Frederic Eger: On March 16, 2025, the Crew Dragon Endurance docked at the International Space Station's Harmony Forward Port, carrying four members of NASA's Crew-10. NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nicole Ayres, JAXA astronaut Taeku Aonishi, and Roscosmo cosmonaut Kirill Peskov entered the space station after opening hatches between the space station and the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. The current Expedition 72 crew welcomed the crew. During the handoff between NASA's Crew-9 to Crew-10, 11 people lived and worked on the orbiting laboratory. After a few days, it was time for NASA's Crew-9 to depart and return to Earth. Crew Dragon Freedom Commander Nick Haig, along with NASA Astronauts Sonny Williams and Butch Wilmore, and Roscosmo cosmonaut Alexander Grgurkin undocked from the zenith port of the space station. On behalf of Crew-9, LaFrance expressed their privilege to call the station home and be part of a global mission and team working together for the benefit of humanity. They expressed excitement for their colleagues and friends who remain on the station and eagerly await their return. Crew-9 returned to Earth when the Dragon Freedom safely splashed down off the coast of Florida, completing the crew's multi-month stay in low Earth orbit. The crew was seen with happy waves and smiles back on Earth. For more developments and updates on the International Space Station, visit blogs.nasa.gov.
