Star Trek 2 - The Wrath of Khan (1982) is a thrilling film set in the 23rd century, following Admiral James T. Kirk, who is preparing for a two-week cadet cruise aboard the USS Enterprise. However, the mission becomes deadly when Khan Noonien Singh, a genetically enhanced superhuman, reappears after years of exile. Khan reveals that the explosion of Ceti Alpha VI shifted the orbit of its neighboring planet, Ceti Alpha V, turning it into a harsh, Mars-like environment. Khan captures the top-secret Project Genesis device, which has the power to create life by terraforming dead planets, and plans to use it as a weapon to destroy Kirk and assert his dominance. The Enterprise is ambushed and crippled by the starship Reliant, under Khan's control. Khan manipulates two crew members, Terrell and Chekov, to aid his plans. Terrell commits suicide, while Chekov is freed from control. Kirk and his team discover that Khan has taken Genesis aboard the Reliant and lure him into the Mutara Nebula, where the nebula's conditions neutralize shields and targeting systems. Kirk disables the Reliant and activates the Genesis device, which threatens to destroy both ships. Spock sacrifices himself to repair the Enterprise's warp drive, allowing the ship to escape just before the Genesis explosion destroys Khan and the Reliant.
