Attraction is a Russian science fiction action film directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk, set in Moscow after an extraterrestrial spaceship crashes. The film follows a young woman who becomes torn between her normal life and the new possibilities offered by an alien. Starring Irina Starshenbaum, Alexander Petrov, Rinal Mukhametov, and Oleg Menshikov, the film explores themes of xenophobia, empathy, and humanity's reaction to the unknown. It features high-budget visual effects and was one of the first Russian films released in IMAX 3D format. The film grossed over 1 billion rubles and became the highest-grossing Russian sci-fi film. The plot includes a dramatic crash-landing sequence where the alien ship causes significant destruction in Moscow. Tensions rise as a group of teenagers, led by protagonist Yulia, seek revenge for the death of a classmate. Yulia eventually allies with the alien Hekon, who saves her life and helps him return to his ship despite opposition from her estranged father. A sequel, Invasion, premiered on New Year's Day 2020.
